My grandson was frightened by my loud voice
My two year old grandson Kade was frightened of me because I’m built like a rugby player and before I got my new hearing aids, I spoke with a booming voice, I guess so I could hear myself speaking: he didn’t want to have anything to do with me. Early this year I went back to New Zealand to visit other family members, and my 13 year old grandson Teorea spoke to me quietly, as kids do. And of course, I didn’t have any idea what he was saying. This was embarrassing for both of us, and I could see him looking at his Mum with a query on his face that said: “What’s wrong with him?” Family is very important to me and that difficulty, even without all the rest of the interactions I was missing out on, encouraged me to get hearing aids.
Ceri was marvellous and explained everything to Anne and me, so that we knew what to expect. She was a great support, and the fitting has been wonderful. I am really happy to have been welcomed to Brad Hutchinson Hearing as part of their hearing aid family. I take this opportunity to thank the Staff at BHH for their care and for looking after me so well. I really appreciate it!
