Don’t buy hearing aid batteries from the chemist or supermarket as they are usually of inferior quality, cost more, and may have been sitting on the shelf for some time which can result in battery degradation. Buying batteries from an audiologist with high turnover means you should be getting a longer battery life, better quality batteries and a lower price.
At Brad Hutchinson Hearing our batteries cost $8.50 for a packet of six and we haven’t changed our prices since 2001! We have a commitment to affordability for hearing aid users which extends to a great offer where if you buy 10 packets you get the eleventh packet free.
Tip: How you can make your batteries last longer – “The 5 Minute Rule”: To activate a hearing aid battery, you need to remove a sticker on the back of battery which allows oxygen to mix with zinc-oxide inside. If you wait five minutes after removing the sticker, the battery will last a few days longer.
